Steve Hoar - Piano & Music Theory

I have been teaching piano full time since 2011. My teaching style is inspired by the skills I developed working for many years in social care, supporting individuals to reach their best potential. I teach children and adults of all ages and abilities. I take a collaborative approach, working with students’ own interests whilst introducing them to new ideas.

As well as teaching, I also compose music for theatre and have been musical director for several productions. I have coached students to achieve distinction in ABRSM graded piano exams and to access senior school music scholarships as well as teaching purely for the joy of making music.

Dependent on your needs, in your individually tailored lesson you will:

• Study music theory and history to deepen your understanding of music

Based in the UK with a flexible work schedule, I am happy to tutor online in most time zones. My pricing is based on The Musician's Union fair teaching rates.
