A professional guitarist with over 20 years practical playing experience, I offer online electric guitar lessons to students all around the world.
I teach students of varying ages and abilities - whether you're a beginner just looking to play your favourite songs, or an aspiring guitarist looking to take the grades, I always strive to personalise my lessons to each of my students own individual goals.
In addition to teaching I work as a session guitarist, with career highlights to date including supporting Jools Holland at The Royal Albert Hall, playing at Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club, and performing to festival crowds of 40,000 with Nick Heyward.

January 21, 2023 at 7:07 pmRyan is a great guitarist and teacher: really relatable, there is no limit to what guitar pieces you can learn with him and lessons are always enjoyable. I have been having online lessons with him for a few years and appreciate the flexibility that this brings.

January 22, 2023 at 6:03 pmRyan is both a great guitarist and a great tutor. He exhibits the patience of a saint, will always make the time to explain and demonstrate techniques, provides good support matrial, is very flexible with regard to what subject matter a lesson will cover (from scale and chord theory to rocking out), and is happy to cover any style of music. He also takes the time to answer any “in-between lesson” questions I may have.

January 23, 2023 at 11:24 amHaving never played an instrument, I wanted to give the electric guitar a go when I retired in my late 50s. I tried some pre-recorded online courses (Fender Play, etc) during Covid times and made some minor progress. I then came across Ryan and have developed faster than I ever imagined. He is so supportive and helpful that I thoroughly look forward to my weekly online lesson. I now have a repertoire of songs that I can play and look forward to expanding that further. Ryan is clearly a very talented musician (and a fun tutor) and has all kinds of technology at his disposal in his studio to assist with his teaching. I cannot recommend him highly enough! 5/5

January 23, 2023 at 8:08 pmRyan is an excellent teacher, I first had lessons with him over 3 years ago and he has taught me a lot. I’m able to choose songs that I like which makes lessons really enjoyable, and I am now working towards doing a grade 5 exam. Ryan is extremely helpful, knowledgable, and talented. Definitely recommend.

January 24, 2023 at 9:50 amI have had several guitar teachers over the years but Ryan is by far the best. His approach is to teach songs I want to play which gives me the motivation to practice and he communicates clearly and patiently. Ryan teaches the techniques which aren’t always obvious from a YouTube tutorial and he structures the lessons so you build a skillset for more complex songs as you progress.
It’s a hugely rewarding process and great fun. During lockdown we switched to on-line lessons without a hitch which proved invaluable at the time and has allowed me to continue learning when I recently relocated.
There are many great guitar players and many accomplished teachers – Ryan is both which is rare. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

August 30, 2024 at 6:51 pmRyan is fantastic. Not only do I enjoy our lessons enormously and look forward to those every week, but the progress I am making because of Ryan is staggering. Every time I get stuck, Ryan has an agile suggestion that fixes things. And Ryan tailors our lessons to accommodate songs that I am keen to learn, but always with an eye on progress (so my guitar is finally becoming an instrument, rather than an item of furniture in the background of zoom calls). I have to add that it is also a privilege to hear Ryan play but his focus is always on you and I am so pleased to be one of his students. Thank you Ryan, I cannot recommend you highly enough to everyone! 5/5
